Huawei has used its smartphone model Mate 20 Pro to complete the work on Schubert's unfinished Symphony No. 8. The company used the phone's Dual NPU processing power to analyse the tones, pitches and bars in the symphony's first two movements. Afterwards, the tune for the missing third and fourth movements was composed with the help of AI. The award-winning composer Lucas Cantor added a final touch to the composition so that an orchestra could play it. The symphony's premiere will be held at Cadogan Hall in London.
