"Amazon Go" from Amazon is the first supermarket which allows customers to skip queuing and paying at checkouts. In 2017, registered "Amazon Go" app users in Seattle will be able to shop at the 167-square-metre shop by simply taking products from shelves as usual. As they do so, the app detects them reaching for the product and adds the item to its digital shopping basket. Customers can then simply leave the shop without manually paying, as their purchases are automatically charged via their Amazon account. The technology behind this is a combination of deep learning and sensors.
