Bank enables payments by wearable

ABN Amro Bank from the Netherlands is the world's first bank to offer customers contactless payment up to a maximum of €250 per day using a wearable. To use this service, customers can buy a wearable with a payment chip from the online shop. The wearables include smartwatches from Garmin, rings from K-Ring and soon also fitness trackers from Fitbit. Customers connect the wearable online with their own bank account and it is then ready to use. To be able to pay at NFC-capable checkouts, users hold the wearable up to a reader and enter their PIN for confirmation.
