The car manufacturer Volvo is working together with Microsoft in order to create applications for the virtual reality headset "HoloLens". The company is therefore the first car maker to enter this market segment. "HoloLens" combines the virtual and real surroundings, with holograms projected into a real environment to produce a mixed reality. The holograms allow users to view Volvo cars from perspectives that would otherwise be out of reach. People can also individually configure a car and see what different paint colours or wheel designs would look like in reality.
