Discovering medication with the help of AI

The start-up Atomwise has developed the deep-learning software "AtomNet", which is able to analyse molecular structures for their potential use in medicine. The generative model processes huge amounts of data and uses rules and simulations defined by chemists to learn how to extract plausible data. This data can be used to identify how different molecules interact and bond with each other. This could drastically reduce the initial phase of the systematic testing of new medications and reduce research costs.
