The car maker Toyota is planning to transform the site of a former car factory into a test area for topics related to the future. Residents of the “Woven City” will live in real conditions with robots, smart home applications and new forms of mobility. Up to 2,000 people are expected to live on this 175-acre site. The company will use the area to test autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones and innovative street design. Street types for fast vehicles, pedestrians and low-speed personal mobility vehicles, as well as a promenade, will be woven together. The area will be powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology.
