Real fish from the lab

The San Francisco-based start-up Finless Foods produces real fish in the lab and hopes that this will counteract the negative effects of traditional fish farming. It uses cellular-agriculture technologies to grow healthy cells of various types of fish. The first product is the bluefin tuna, which is under threat from predatory fishing practices. On-shore production serves to maintain the ocean ecosystems, while avoiding impurities and ensuring a healthy source of proteins.
