Searching the news with a digital voice assistant

The British newspaper The Guardian is letting Amazon Echo users perform voice-controlled searches for various subjects. The feature called “Guardian Skill” lets them call up a selection of headlines on certain subjects. Users can ask for a specific piece of information and have it read by the language recognition software program Alexa. This feature will make news available to people without them having to reach for their smartphone. It will also be a boon to users with visual impairments or low-level reading skills.
