Supermarket with anti-plastic strategy

The French company Carrefour has announced a strategy to switch completely to recycled, reusable or biodegradable packaging by 2025. Initially, fewer plastic bags will be offered, straws removed from the range and non-recyclable disposable plastic bags for fruit and vegetables banned from supermarkets. From 2020 at the latest, the packaging of the bio-own brand should consist of 100 percent recyclable plastic and 50 percent recycled plastic in beverage bottles from 2022 at the latest. In addition, certain products should not be packaged at all.
