Watson diagnoses heart disease

For the first time, IBM is now using its Watson technology in hospitals for medical imaging in an attempt to figure out which patients need follow-up care for aortic stenosis. The condition when the heart's aortic valve narrows and blocks blood flow to the rest of the body is one of the most difficult for cardiologists to diagnose. The Watson technology will assist doctors by reading medical records, comparing them to other relevant data and analysing images of the patient's heart. This will simplify the diagnosis so that patients can then be treated faster and better.
